Kate Wright, creator of Kate's Place Cafe & Cookery School, has owned and operated Cobblestone Café in Galway’s Kirwans lane for the past 10 years where wholesome homemade foods have been key. She was regularly asked by customers of the café for her delicious recipes and finally decided to offer classes where she could share recipes and ideas about cooking.

   Originally from Fethard in Co. Tipperary Kate Wright did her initial training in catering and hotel management in Cashel Palace. Kate has lived and worked in Galway for the past 20 years and has always delighted Galwegians with her culinary skills.

   The smell of the homemade scones and the gorgeous wild flowers on the table make Kate's Place Cafe a lovely Oranmore hideaway. 

   The Café, has a charming country cottage décor which Kate herself designed and it gives the café a warm and cosy feel. Wholesome, natural and homemade are the corner stones of Kate’s cooking philosophy. Everything on her menu from her award winning orange cake to her spicy falafels are made right in front of the customer. It feels like you are sitting in your own kitchen enjoying the finest food, atmosphere and chat.
